May 14th was filled with all things Charlotte. We baked birthday cupcakes for our own party and to share with our neighbors. We played outside. We sang 'Happy Birthday' and sent 4 pink balloons (because 2 inevitably popped before we even got them home) to our favorite little girl in Heaven. There is no such thing as perfect when it comes to things like this...but I think that our yearly celebrations come pretty close.
Messages for big sister - this is the first year that H and Maxo have had special requests for their birthday wishes. They spoke the words, I wrote them down. Then they added their own unique details.
An "awesome race track" for the birthday girl
These two boys make every single day "doable." To hear them talk about their big sister...sigh...my heart can hardly take it. And it only gets better as they start to embrace and get excited about our special celebrations!
Six years ago you came into this world and melted the hearts of everyone who crossed your path. Your story inspired people to be better versions of themselves, served as a reminder to slow down and focus on the things in life that really matter, and pushed us all to become stronger in our faith. You've been my inspiration since day one, and six years later you're still pushing me to be the best mama possible. I thank God every single day for you, Charlotte Delene.
Happiest birthday wishes, sweet girl. We miss you so much and hope that you could feel all of the love that we were sending you on your special day.
