California Dreamin' {Day 4}

By day 4 of our California adventure ALL of the Ritchies were ready for a little R&R. We planned to spend Thursday and Friday nights at Matt's uncle's home in Manhattan Beach and were grateful for such a beautiful place to "stay put" and recharge.

After lunch we wandered down to the beach. Harrison was all about making "rivers" in the sand, and Max?  Well, after his close encounter with the ocean on day 2 of our trip, he wanted nothing other than to sit on his mama's lap in the sand.

The beach is at the bottom of a VERY steep hill. We made it about half way up said hill with our double stroller before we decided that it was time for an ice cream break!

That night we made a quick drive to Santa Monica to do a little more exploring.

We had big hopes of riding a few rides on the pier - only to find that the amusement park was closed for a private party. Luckily 2 and 4 year olds are pretty easy to entertain and we ended up throwing away some money playing in the arcade instead.

 We wrapped things up with late night pizza-by-the-slice on the 3rd Street Promenade before snuggling 2 tired boys into their carseats for the moonlit ride home. Another perfect ending to another perfect day.
