Eight is Great!

Dear Harrison,

This past week you hit the big 8 month mark.  It hardly seems possible that you, my sweet baby boy, could be 3/4 of the way to 1 year old. This month, much like the one before, and the one before that, I find myself looking back at the past 30 days and wondering how they possibly could have passed so quickly.  You're getting so big and learning so many new things.

Here are a few of the things that you have been up to at 8 months old:

You LOVE to yell talk.  The first half of the month you were constantly using an "outside" voice.  I guess you wanted to make sure that we didn't miss any details of the stories you were telling.  You are proficient with "ba" and "da" and have recently started mimicking monster sounds in the car.

You're a champion sitter/roller.  We had to do our first official baby-proofing as you like to roll over to the fireplace hearth (which has a nice pointy brick corner).

You snuggle with your Charley Bear every night as you fall asleep.  It's my favorite part of the whole day.

You've been blowing raspberries with your lips for quite a while now, but at 8 months old you decided that it was time to up your game a bit.  Raspberries now consists of lips AND tongue...and a whole lot of flying spit.  Silly boy.

You're still totally toothless with no signs of changing!  You're sister was just starting to work on teeth when she celebrated her first birthday, so I'm not surprised.

You have the BEST chunky monkey, rolly-polly, squishable, squeezable thighs.  Seriously...stuff could get lost in there.  You're already maxing out on your 9 month wardrobe and are in a size 3 diaper.

You're brain has been working overtime this month and you are really starting to figure things out.  You've learned that if you swing your leg just right, you can take down the whole upper part of your play mat.  You've learned that if you don't want something at dinner time that you can just squeeze your eyes and lips together, shake your head, and drop food over the edge of your high chair.  You've learned how to turn on the DVD player with your toes.  Hmmmmm....sounds like we're going to have our hands full!

You've also been working on "learning" how to play!  You love when we roll a ball back and forth to each other and playing with your stacking rings.  You figured out that the fastest way to get the rings off of their post is to just flail your arms around, sending them all flying.  Instant gratification!

Hahaha!  I had to include this picture.  It's H's official "stop taking pictures of me" look!

Month #8 has been so much fun, Mister Man...each day full of smiles and giggles that melt our hearts.  I hope you're having as much fun as we are!

Love, Mommy
