Mother's Day posts wouldn't be complete without a much deserved acknowledgment of another generation of moms! Charlotte was blessed to have not one, but TWO incredible great grandmas to love on her!
First up is Charlotte's Great Grandma Delene (aka the inspiration behind our girlie's middle name.) Delene lives all the way out in California, so the few times that these two got to spend together were incredibly special.
When Charlotte was about 3 months old we were able to spend a weekend on the Niobrara River with family. Delene was able to make the trip and got to meet little Charlotte for the very first time.
It was love at first sight!
Here is a picture of the two of them nine months later on Charlotte's 1st birthday. We didn't realize at the time what a blessing it was for Delene to be able to make the trip. She got to spend a very special day with our happy and healthy little girl and we couldn't be more thankful for the memories.
Next up is a lady that I like to refer to as the "baby whisperer." Seriously! After about 2.5 seconds in Great Grandma Laura's arms, Miss Charlotte was zonked. Look how comfy and cozy she looks! This picture melts my heart every single time that I look at it.
I don't remember anything about my great grandmas...but I'm so thankful to have memories of our daughter with hers. That quote that I shared yesterday about how grandmothers are like angels - well, it definitely holds true for great grandmothers as well. The prayers from these 2 amazing women have carried us through a lot of hard times. Their presence in our life is such an incredible blessing and the love that they have to share is endless.
Happy belated Mother's Day, Delene and Laura. We love you with all of our hearts!
XOXO
